This Chester County Armory listing is for an exceedingly rare, original Colt factory US Government Property marked M16A2 / M4 Carbine fully transferable machine gun. This model is in the same configuration as when it was originally released from Colt: as a raw, “in the white” special production item. “In-the-white” is a common industry term to denote that an item is in unfinished condition.
While it has not been anodized, Colt did originally treat the unfinished areas with a preservative-type coating to protect the un-anodized aluminum parts. This fully transferable machine gun is in new, unfired condition. It features a fire control group of SAFE, SEMI, and BURST markings, with a 14.5″ 1/7 twist barreled upper with a standard Colt telescoping carbine stock and M4 furniture.
The polished receiver does note some minor production, handling, and storage marks in its exterior finish (see photos), but no cracks, dents, dings, gouges, malformations, etc., that would not be conducive to full mechanical operation. The carbine buffer tube, removable carry handle, and Delta ring were also made “in the white” by Colt to add to the machine gun’s aesthetic value.
This extremely rare example of a Colt factory machine gun came to us directly from former Colt executive John Keosayian’s personal collection.
This model is an NFA registered, fully transferable machine gun and is currently on a Form 3
