Description
What You Need to Know Before Buying the HK VP9CC
Our team at Ridgeline Arms has handled hundreds of HK pistols over the years — full-size VP9s, VP9SKs, the P30 series. The VP9CC is something different. It’s the first time HK has taken their premium German manufacturing and applied it to a true micro-compact carry gun without making compromises that cheapen the experience.
This isn’t the cheapest way to get a micro-compact 9mm. At $1,399 with the Vortex optic, it costs more than a P365 and a Holosun combined. The question is whether HK’s approach justifies that premium. After examining the VP9CC, we think it does for a specific kind of buyer.
Who the VP9CC Is For
If you carry every day and have already owned a micro-compact that left you wanting better — a better trigger, a better optic mount, better fit in your hand — the VP9CC was built for you. It’s not a first gun. It’s the gun you buy after you know what matters to you in a carry pistol.
The six interchangeable backstraps mean you can actually fit the grip to your hand. Most micro-compacts give you one grip or maybe two. HK gives you six geometries. That matters when you’re shooting a sub-18-ounce gun where every fraction of grip contact affects recoil control.

How It Compares
The VP9CC costs roughly $800 more than a Sig P365. The P365 is an excellent gun — arguably the best value in micro-compacts. But the VP9CC’s trigger, barrel steel, and optic mount system are in a different class. If the P365 is a Honda Civic, the VP9CC is a BMW M3. Both get you there. One does it with more refinement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the VP9CC come with the red dot already mounted?
Yes. The Vortex Defender CCW ships factory-installed on HK’s proprietary low-mount system. No gunsmith visit required — it’s ready to zero and carry.
Can I use VP9 or VP9SK magazines in the VP9CC?
No. The VP9CC uses its own proprietary magazines. Two are included: a 10-round flush and a 12-round extended.
Is the $1,399 price worth it over cheaper options?
The VP9CC includes a $300+ optic in the box, which narrows the gap. You’re also paying for German manufacturing, HK’s barrel steel, and the deepest optic mount on any micro-compact. Whether that’s worth it depends on your budget and priorities.
How long until holster companies make VP9CC holsters?
Safariland has already announced VP9CC holsters. Tier 1 Concealed, Vedder, and other major makers typically follow within 4-8 weeks of a new release. Check back or contact us for updates.
