The CZ 83 is the Czech-made all-steel .380 ACP (9mm Browning Short) compact pistol produced from the 1980s until 2012, the export sibling of the CZ 82. It uses a simple blowback action with a fixed barrel, a smooth DA/SA trigger, an ambidextrous safety and a 12-round double-stack magazine, which made it one of the highest-capacity .380s of its era and a favorite for its accuracy and soft shooting. Most examples on the market today are surplus or lightly used imports.
