This Chester County Armory listing is for a semi-automatic Heckler & Koch model HK53 5.56mm NATO semi-automatic short barrel rifle.
This NFA registered SBR was setup by famed H&K gunsmith Ralph Smith at RTDS Manufacturing. It started out life as an HK imported model 93 that has been converted to its short barrel brethren, model HK 53.
This SBR features an HK53 correct 8.3″ length barrel, a Heckler & Koch A3 retractable stock, and has been correctly remarked to read HK 53 as the model. The trigger housing is an SEF marked grip in semi-auto only, however, this model has also had its bolt carrier group upgraded to be completely sear-ready for select-fire with your transferable registered machine gun sear pack.
This SBR is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. The bolt carrier group and internals note very little wear, outside of a few marks on the bolt head. The bore is bright and shiny, with crisp rifling. Cosmetically, the exterior finish is in factory new condition, and notes virtually no handling or storage marks, whatsoever. This weapon has not been fired (outside of any gunsmith testing) since its SBR conversion.
The Form 3 paperwork for this short barrel rifle lists the manufacturer as “RTDS MFG” and the model as “53.”
