What makes the PR57 different?

The key is the design. Keltec ditched the standard magazine well, which saves a significant amount of weight. This pistol uses a rotary barrel mechanism to keep the overall weight down – around 0.87 lbs. You load rounds directly into the chamber, either individually or with the included stripper clips. That top-loading feature also makes the gun more compact overall.
